Ever heard of the saying, “Our lies catch up to us.”
What about our secrets? Those secrets we keep buried deep so that nobody is able to get to them.
None of you readers out there can protest with me on this. You can’t really say that there is actually no such secret that you have. We all have them.
We all have that one secret that we’re ashamed of. One secret that we want to take to our grave. You know why we keep secrets? They make us feel protected in some way.
I guess to know that nobody is aware of our secret gives a sense of satisfaction that we need or desire. Lies and secrets are not that different you know, they both are very close to each other.
Our secrets are reasons which lead us to lie because the truth is like a bed of thorns, nobody wants to lay on it knowingly. While the lies are more comfortable, they’re easy to say and mostly they are more believable. So, w can say that lies are like the bed of petals from which we never want to get up.
But have you ever thought that how far we can actually keep up with the lies and secrets because eventually, something will make them come out and when that will happen, we might lose more than we expected?
Having secrets is like having a constant fear of someone knowing about something you’d gone too far to protect. A constant reminder that you’d done something wrong. It’s like having a gun pointed at your head with only one bullet and every time someone pulled the trigger, we think it’s last breath we’ll take.
Our secrets always come back to haunt us. We can run from them but for how long? We’re human after all, eventually we’ll get tired because time is cruel it always reveals a lot about us.
